Literally Dope Shoes: NJ Man Attempts to Smuggle 5 Pounds of Cocaine in Shoes

Recently, a Trenton, New Jersey resident was arrested for smuggling 2.17 kilograms of cocaine into the country by way of several pair of shoes. Specifically, 24-year-old Carlos J. Lanns allegedly stuffed eight pairs of shoes with 2.17 kilograms of cocaine (wrapped in plastic); however, at press time, he pleaded not guilty in Boston. Yesterday morning, Carlos J. Lanns was held on $300,000 bail by a magistrate judge. Stay tuned for more leads pertaining to this story.
This is not the first time cocaine and kicks appeared simultaneously in the airport. If you recall, a similar story evolved earlier in the summer at JFK Airport in New York
