NBC Confirms Seth Meyers Will Replace Jimmy Fallon As ‘Late Night’ Host

It’s been assumed for months, and now it’s official: Seth Meyers will become the next host of Late Night.

[Meyers] will succeed Jimmy Fallon who is taking over The Tonight Show next March, replacing Jay Leno. Lorne Michaels will executive produce Late Night with Seth Meyers, and Michael Shoemaker will remain with the franchise as producer. It will originate from 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York.

It’s unknown at this time who will replace Meyers on SNL, but apparently the key to getting a late-night show is to be a Weekend Update anchor who giggles a lot. John Mulaney, best start working on your laugh now.
