Metta World Peace Is Playing A Cop In The New Nancy Grace Lifetime Movie

Metta World Peace took to Twitter on Tuesday to announce the big news: His Lifetime movie will drop Nov. 3. Yes, the Los Angeles Lakers forward formerly known as Ron Artest will make his film-acting debut in an adaptation of—wait for it—Nancy Grace’s first novel, “The Eleventh Victim.” “My [first] long movie!!!” World Peace breathlessly reported on Twitter. “Playing a detective and…….” And? Kobe is his clumsy sidekick? LeBron is being indicted for flopping? Oh, the suspense! World Peace left the thought unfinished. He may have gotten distracted. His very next Tweet: “Who wanna party with me on Saturday???” In any case, World Peace will star as Garlan Fincher, a Georgia detective—and we have the publicity shots to prove it. To World Peace’s credit, he looks highly convincing with his badge and holster. During one scene (spoiler alert!), World Peace jots notes in court as his co-star, Jennie Garth of “Beverly Hills, 90210” fame, glances at him. The movie was filmed over the summer in Vancouver, British Columbia. He and Grace got to know each other during the filming of ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars,” and Grace told TV Guide that she’s a big fan of World Peace’s. (Garth also appeared on the dancing-themed reality show.)
