A Test Drive Of The Electric DeLorean & A Tour Of The Headquarters

Ahead of its highly-anticipated debut next year, DRIVE and its TUNED web series were invited to Houston, Texas to test drive the upcoming all-electric version of the iconic DeLorean DMC-12. TUNED’s Matt Farah had the opportunity to tour the DMC headquarters alongside company president Stephen Wynne as Wynne provided some background on the beloved automobile before Farah took the prototype for a ride around town. In its early stage, the all-electric DMC-12 features 35 kilowatts of power and a lithium iron phosphate battery pack – thus providing more than 250 hp and allowing the car to reach speeds of more than 100 mph with acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in less than five seconds. Said to be hitting the market sometime in the middle of next year, the electric DMC-12 will likely retail for around $95,000 USD.
