Jay-Z Is Ready To Sign Victor Cruz To Roc Nation

Let's score this as a touchdown for Jay-Z. Multiple sources confirm to Confidenti@l that New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz is thisclose to inking an entertainment management deal with Jay-Z and his company Roc Nation.

One insider says the contract between the 25-year-old football stud and his rap royalty pal is "a done deal" while another says "it's just about there," adding excitedly "there's no turning back now!"

The partnership, according to an insider, will give Jay-Z control of securing Cruz's entertainment deals and fattening up his resume away from the sports industry. But that's not where the buck ends. "I wouldn't rule out him working on a record down the line," says the source, adding that with Jay-Z at the helm, Cruz, known for his sassy salsa endzone dancing, could "snap his fingers and be on a famous artist's single like that." Roc Nation currently represents Rihanna, Willow Smith, Rita Ora, MIA and Mark Ronson, among others.

Cruz, a Giants fan favorite who turned down an offer on "Dancing With the Stars" last winter, announced in February he had signed with IMG Worldwide to negotiate his sports marketing and endorsement agreements. While Cruz is still under contract with IMG, the source says Jay-Z will focus more on the entertainment side – like he does with the other athlete recently signed to Roc Nation, skateboarder Theotis Beasley. IMG officials could not be reached by deadline,

Since signing on with Jay-Z's company in May, Beasley has already appeared in a music video for Jaden Smith, the son of Jay-Z's pal, Will Smith.

A glaring difference between Beasley and Cruz however, is that the skateboarder has yet to meet Jay-Z. Meanwhile, the rapper and Super Bowl champ have been spotted on numerous occasions palling around together; as recently as last month at Meek Mill's exclusive "Dreams and Nightmares" album listening party in New York City.
